A good friend of mine decided that she would love to learn to cook a little bit. So she came over and we went on a Kroger grocery shopping trip. Every food item, except the Sriracha, was purchased at Kroger.
The decision on which type taco shells to purchase was quite difficult. There were so many different choices and flavors. We finally settled on the Old El Paso Stand 'n Stuff Nacho Cheese Flavored Taco Shells. They were super easy to handle. The shells were baked to really bring out the unique cheese flavor.
The Chicken was a simple boneless chicken breast. My friend had the honors to prepare the chicken for me to cook. After a good scrub and wash, it was time to season. Seasoning chicken is completely based on your preference. You can take the chicken and marinate it for a certain amount of time, which can be anywhere between 1 hour and 24 hours. The other method is to season it and massage the flavors into the chicken very well. We, of course, decided to go with the second method. While she prepped that and cut up the chicken, I put the taco shells into the oven and got a frying pan prepared for the chicken. Cooking the chicken took a few long minutes, but we made it entertaining and used some Snapchat filters. I added some of the Ortega Medium Taco Sauce to give the chicken both some more flavor and a little of that gingery color.
The vegetables, seen in the green bowl, consists of a mix of lettuce and Pico de Gallo from the Kroger fresh produce aisle. We added a little kick to the traditional lettuce and tomato addition in tacos you may find in fast food restaurants.
The blend of all the ingredients tasted ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! It was a flavor set to dance on the tongue. With the flavor additions of the Daisy Sour Cream, Ortega Medium Taco Sauce, and Sriracha, the tacos were a bit messy. To top it off, we were laughing at the ABC television show "Galavant". Altogether, the day was a good and fun one.
